Sophie Pithouse emerged as the most successful player after the first Hreod Parkway Croquet Tournament. The tournament was played as an American Block, each entrant playing four games each. Sophie stormed into the winner's spot with four straight wins. Sophie Pithouse beat Lisa Murphy +2, Chelsea Atkin +1,Georgina Louca+2 and Ann Marie Casey +3. The runners up spot was contested by Lisa Murphy and Chelsea Atkin, both winning two games. Lisa claimed the position, edging out Chelsea by scoring the greater number of points in the two games won. The Tournament was the climax of the May Croquet coaching course run within the schools enrichment programme and the schools link with Swindon Croquet Club. Tom Wilkes the Deputy Head said "that the Croquet has proved successful and enjoyed by the students and has been included in the schools programme for next term". Swindon Croquet Club wish to thank Ali Beecham, the school liaison officer, Di. Trott, Dennis Capel, Chris Marjason and John Airey, the club coaches, and all the students taking part for making the croquet course so successful.
