SWINDON JUNIOR STREET WARDENS

The Swindon Club invited the Swindon Junior Street Wardens for a croquet session at Easter. Five members spent the morning session coaching the children in Golf Croquet, then after lunch the children took part in a Golf Tournament. The visit proved so popular that they have requested another visit during the Whitsun break.

About the Swindon Junior Street Wardens.
Over 100 children have enrolled as Junior Street Wardens working along side adult Street Wardens, making the areas of Park and Walcot more comfortable for the residents and cleaner for themselves and others. Juniors suggest how the area can be improved, picking up litter, collecting shopping trolleys and reporting graffiti and dumped rubbish. Swindon were the first warden group to involve the local children in the scheme and are seen as the bench mark nation wide. On the day of the club visit a group from Edinburgh had flown down to a meeting with the warden supervisor Chris Neville-Jones and paid a visit to the croquet club to meet the children.
